Popular actor Jimoh 'Aworo' Aliu dies at 86

Popular veteran Nollywood actor Jimoh Aliu has died.

Aliu died at Ekiti State Teaching Hospital, Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti state on Thursday, aged 86.

According to his close associate, the body of the deceased would be transferred to his residence in the Adebayo sector in Ado-Ekiti before being transferred to his hometown.

Okemesi Ekiti in the Ekiti West local government area of ​​the state, where he would be buried on Friday.

Aliu was producing the first of his five-film project, Olowo Ite, before he passed away.

The films were expected to feature the best actors in Nollywood.

Born in Okemesi-Ekiti, the deceased began acting in 1959 after joining the Akin Ogungbe Theater Group.

and left in 1966 to form his own company, Jimoh Aliu Concert Party, in Ikare, Ondo state.

He had produced and appeared in several Yoruba films, the most popular being ‘Yanpan Yarin’ and ‘Fopomoyo’.

He was president of the Association of Nigerian Theater Professionals (ANTP).
