Oyo 2023: APC Stalwarts meets in Ibadan, oath to evict Makinde

The stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state met Thursday in Ibadan, the state capital, to resolve all party crises, with a view to reclaiming the state.

APC stakeholders who urged their supporters and other party members to see themselves as one, insisted that the need to unite is necessary to overthrow the ruling People17;s Democratic Party (PDP).

The APC had lost the 019 gubernatorial to Governor Seyi Makinde of the People17;s Democratic Party, recently announced plans to topple Makinde in 023.

The meeting was attended by the chairman, Communications Commission (NCC) professor Adeolu Akande, the former Minister of Communications, lawyer Adebayo Shittu, Senators Soji Akanbi and Ayo Adeseun and Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, who chaired the meeting.

Other APC supporters at the meeting were Chief Goke Oyetunji, Barrister Niyi Akintola, Alhaji Fatal Ibikunle, Honorable Saheed Fijabi, Bosun Oladele and Sunbo Olugbemi.

In a statement issued at the meeting, the stalwarts urged various party groups to sheathe their swords and work party unity to overthrow the ruling PDP.

In the statement signed by a former secretary of the State Government who is the chairman of the statement writing committee, Alhaji Waheed Olajide and the president of the NCC, Professor Adeolu Akande, who is the secretary of the statement writing committee, the party said that all contentious issues within the party have examined and resolved.

“APC members in Oyo state were implored to resolve their differences and work party unity. All contentious issues that led to the party crisis were examined and addressed.
