Mabuza was to answer questions about various developments within government, including the status of COVID-19 corruption-related investigations as well as public entities.
Unlucky third time: David Mabuza still sick
This is the third time Mabuza requested a postponement. Last month, question and answer sessions at the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) and the National Assembly had to be postponed after DD also cited his medical condition.
“The Vice President has once again fully committed to his availability before Parliament once fully recovered,” Mothapo continued.
DA: “An apology to parliament”
The Democratic Alliance (AD) does not seem to buy into why Mabuza gave Parliament another chance and said he was only looking for excuses.
“Thursday’s session is essential to ensure that the executive is held to account, and as the government affairs leader in parliament, the vice president must avail himself to account for brazen Covid-19 corruption of his party, the ANC and the government. DA spokesperson Solly Malatsi said.
“So where’s DD Mabuza?” Either he is gravely ill, and his office is trying to hide this fact, or there is nothing wrong with him and he is just trying to avoid responsibility by declaring himself ill every time he is called to Parliament. ”
This is not the first time that the vice president’s health has focused. Mabuza has made a number of trips to Russia for medical treatment after being allegedly poisoned.
