LGBTQ rights activist criticizes Simi after apologizing for homophobic comments for personal benefits "ontopnaija

Popular Nigerian LGBTQ activist Pamela Adie has slammed Simi other celebrities for apologizing for their homophobic behavior or comments for selfish reasons.

Taking to Twitter to respond to the backlash that followed Simi’s apology to the community after husband was featured in a queer magazine, she described the act as shameful. Pamela said that members LGBTQ community are not toys that celebrities can use to benefit from projects that are good for their image.

She wrote: “There seems to be a tendency for people to ‘apologize’ for their homophobic behavior / comments in time to benefit from participating in things or projects that are good for their image. It’s a shameful thing. So I understand how some may see Simi’s apology as one of those tactics.

The truth , we’ve had enough of homophobes use closeness to community to advance their careers relevance. We are not toys. Our feelings are real our lives matter. It has to stop. I respect organizations that listen act; Quazar.
