Business – Customers from Hell

I am a freelance designer, working on a local businessman’s website. The client wanted 4 or 5 pages on the site, but never specified what he wanted on each page other than a title.

Me: In terms of design, I think I have completed everything you asked me to do. Go ahead, take a look at what I uploaded and let me know if you need any final edits before we wrap up.

Customer: Well I looked at it, but there is no text on any of the pages!

Me: That’s right – you haven’t given me any content to put on the site. You wanted to do this yourself, remember?

Customer: Well he needs Something Here! Just write a few things about my business!

Me: I would love to add some text for you, but you have to tell me what you would like me to write. I don’t know anything about your business other than the fact that you repair HVAC units.

Customer: I don’t know, just like… my business stuff.

Me: Ok… how long have you been in business? Are you insured, licensed, bonded, or registered with the Better Business Bureau? Do you have a business address or PO Box number ornothing can you tell me about to add to the site? What types of units do you have repair experience? Are you trying to reach a residential crowd, or a commercial crowd, or both?

Customer: I don’t want to give any of this information. I accept credit card payments!
