Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitić is expected to join Europa League champions Sevilla on a two-year contract with a one-year option.
Rakitić will earn € 3m per season at Sevilla, a significant reduction from his € 8m per season contract at Barcelona, Goal reports.
The Croatia international has been deemed to be in excess of the demands of new Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.
He was one of four players Koeman wants to sell to Barca this summer.
The 32-year-old was not a regular feature at Barcelona last season as he lost the La Liga title to Real Madrid.
Speaking about his future at Barcelona, Rakitić said last season that he would do everything possible to change his lack of playing time at Camp Nou.
Rakitic said, “I don’t know what’s going to happen now. It’s difficult because I want to play and not just be part of the team. I will do my best to change my situation. ”
