Sensational singer Naira Marley has finally been brought to justice in a mobile court in Abuja.
It will be recalled that a few hours ago he was arrested and brought to justice by the Lagos State Police Command for flouting travel bans during the lockdown. Lagos State Police Command spokesperson Bala Elkana told Punch that Marley had reported to the command headquarters. “We are in court as we speak. However, new reports indicate that the singer was taken from Lagos to Abuja where he was arraigned in a mobile court in Abuja on Friday August 7, 2020, for violating COVID-19 protocols. The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) filed a complaint against him on four counts of organizing a concert at the Jabi Lake Mall in Abuja, in blatant violation of COVID-19 guidelines on June 13.
After the charges were read to him, Naira Marley pleaded guilty, and presiding magistrate Idayat Akanni fined him 200,000 naira.
